I suppose Audit is around the same, and Consulting around 85? Does that sound correct? Just want to have a grasp of the market right now.

I have submitted my resignation on Aug11th. I received a mail very next day from HR saying salary willbe put on hold for reliving month and immediate previous month will be put on hold as FNF dues.
Now half of the people I asked saying I won't get salary for August as well and half saying i will get salary for August. Can anyone confirm on this?

Anyone has innovative ideas on how to reduce federal and state income taxes? I am in CA and my sources of income include salary, rental income, and some business income.

I already max out retirement benefits (401K, IRA, SepIRA etc.) and we have no kids.

I work in a firm that is known for litigation defense. I’ve been developing my own plaintiffs practice as well. I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency. I was recently negotiating a case and was told part of the reason the claims rep/OC was jerking me around was because they didn’t see me as a plaintiffs attorney. Is there any way to change this perception or does it just come over time?
