Essentially yes. Dont need to say much more than that- other than express gratitude for their mentorship over the years

i took a LOA to finish building my home and to pursue a passion of mine : research and teaching (i was a researcher at a lab and lecturer at a university, both were approved by Deloitte). So I dont think it will be an issue! I was just wondering if I should be honest and tell them i would like to stay if they can give me a better offer (if so, should I plan the discussion and prepare some talking points like any negotiation discussion), or simply give in my two weeks and wait for a counter offer.

If it were me I'd ask leadership on my current engagement what they could work out as they're probably amongst the most invested in keeping me with the company. That said, how the hell did you get approached and get 3 offers like that? Any tips?

As for the offers, it was much easier to prepare for the interviews since I was on LOA and had plenty of free time! Im not sure I would've performed that well (especially MBB) if I didn't have that much time to prepare

The belief that you should be able to move from HCOL to LCOL and not have to take a pay cut is ultimate in socioeconomic and geographic privilege and outright entitlement. Nobody is going to give LCOL a raise to move to HCOL. The work you do is the same, you produce the same value, bill the same rate as peers in another geography. Take a pay cut or give LCOL a significant raise.

A consideration in any early promotion should be anonymous feedback from those directly under that person. How any firm thinks a person should move up early without considering if the people they lead think positively of them is odd

I feel jerked around by my team, as they keep telling me I will be promoted/have more responsibility, every few months. When I follow up, I am usually told, “but you have more responsibility now; no need to make it official”. Not sure what to believe any longer. They said they have put forward a case for my promotion now. I want to believe them this time but feel like a fool when I think back to some of the earlier conversations. Should I bring those conversations up, or just smile and saythanks

Didn't get promoted and the more I think about it, the more upset I become. Had a good year, helped fill in gaps, took on roles to help lead internal initiatives, led/managed teams to success, and worked looonnnggg hours to the point of burnout. Leaders also know how much I was working. I didn't expect a promotion because I had low expectations for my firm, but I'm still pretty bitter. Should I ask why? Was I too naive and ended up giving too much? Or is this a reflection of my work/value?

I’d love some help thinking through this. I’m currently renting for $1600 base ($1800 total) and live in the least desirable part of town, and expect it to raise to about $2k/month. I was planning to buy my first property in the city and Airbnb part of it, but it will take me about a year to save up the cash (~$500k starting). Eventual goal is to move more rural but trying to build to FI. I found a property in my ideal dream location for $280k but it needs work, and can’t Airbnb it. Continued
