I actually think tech might have better maternity leave benefits. I would check that out to weigh out your options as well. There’s a few agency places that have decent leave benefits, but overall I think tech is better there. If it’s tech contract work though, I’d stick with agency for the job security/leave personally
Should I stick to agency life while I still have the energy and time and wait to jump in-house after the babe is born? Or should I go tech now and come back agency-side later? Will going in house now will hurt agency job prospects later?
Go to tech. I have a toddler I’m trying to make the transition to tech now. Searching for the right cross over.
Tech start up: my dream. Is there a recruiter/resource you are using to help find opportunities in this space?
Apply and interview at both and see how your gut feels about it and if you get offers.
In my experience better leave is outside of the agency. I’m in tech and moving to media from agency. My first leave was 6 months 100% paid (4 months + 2 weeks vacation) and my current leave is 16 weeks 100% paid and then I negotiated a couple WFH days to manage two under two. My old agency offered 8 weeks after 2 years (mind you this was 6 years ago but still that’s shit)
