Is EY’s culture deteriorating?
Think they did a good job on this piece. It was a truly embarrassing moment for the firm, but I think it’s being handled as well as can be expected. Should go smoothly this year 🤞

Deloitte is a lot greener. Send me your resume.
I changed offices, same service line (so all new people) was terrible. I loved the people in the first office, the work was 50/50 work that I wanted and didn’t want. Changed offices for a better location, same 50/50 work split, hated the people in the new office. Real bad vibes, I was completely miserable. Then I switched big 4 for 100% of the 50/50 work that I loved and it was the best decision ever. Been here for 5 years now. So I’d say if you like your people, be careful, grass isn’t always greener. If you don’t, give it a shot! I’m still on great terms w/ my first office at the other B4.
That’s so helpful. Thank you for sharing!!
If you are manager or below,, then go for it. No need for you to be not happy while working. Sometimes change is good.
If a new senior manager/ director, then just weigh the pros and cons a bit more. If an experienced 3-4 year sr manager/ director, then try best to work it out within the same firm. …..move as a last resort.
I’m also manager so appreciate the feedback.
I would be careful about being excited about the clients. You might not get assigned same clients that were discussed in interview. A fresh start isn’t bad though, especially with the increase in pay.
I left my firm after 4 years because I didn’t like my clients and where I was headed. Went to new firm and have been here 12 years and made partner. There are other people I know with similar success after moving firms.
But think about the reason you are moving and if you want to be in a new public accounting firm or really just want out of public accounting. In my experience about 75% of the time people switch firms they leave the new firm within a year because the things they didn’t like at their old firm are the same at the new firm.
I switched from pwc to Deloitte and am super happy with my decision. Been at Deloitte for 4 years now and the culture and team are so much better than my old team.
What office were you in with PwC if you’re comfortable sharing

Are you going to a same team or different one? I moved from other B4 but I changed the service line.
Thank you PwC 2!!! I wish you a happier path forward, whatever that is.
From experience, you have to take care of you first. That being said, Big 4 are pretty similar in most ways. What exactly about your work isn’t enjoyable? Are you burnt out? Lack of support? I will say that if you’ve gone so far as to interview, my advice is to take the leap. You’re not happy where you are so something has to change. Do you foresee it changing in your current position?
If you’ve thought about RSM more than happy to refer you

Go to mid market instead of another big four. Big four on your resume is enough.
Dm if you are interested in BDO.
Joining any big 4 team as a new person is always a gamble. Personally if I were to leave, I would never go to another big 4 and go straight to industry.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Super helpful.
