Best way to get a consulting job in the U.S?
Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

Well do you want to be an accountant or financial advisor? They’re very different certs…
CPA
Get CPA then CFP. That is what I’m trying to do . I am thinking of doing this to eventually switch to financial planning after I get bored of general tax lol. Plus, if you are CPA, you can skip all the bs requirements of CFP.
FWIW, I’ve heard lots of success stories of people that got their CPA and spent a little time in public (ideally some type of partnership or wealth management tax) and then switched over to personal financial management through getting CFP. CFP will also feel much easier after already getting CPA.
Correct there is accelerated track to obtain CFP if u are already a CPA
Those are completely different. What is your goal?
MD JD CPA CFA CFP MBA for best result
That's a dumb question CPA however, having both you'd be golden. I knew a CFO from a large hedge fund and we would talk all the time and he came from one of the big four. And we will talk because he became so rich overnight. He couldn't believe it and he told me how it was incredible. Very smart guy very down-to-earth. I used to tease him about his houses on the Hamptons so my advice is get both.
If u can do both, it opens up a work of opportunity in the private wealth space, bonus points for CFA too
Both
Does the private wealth space make as much money as the CPA accountant route though?
