Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

I saw the same guy (contractor) get arrested at work twice, at two different clients.
Client found out an analyst fabricated data
A whole team lied about the current status of a margin improvement project, saying they were further along, severely screwing up the budgeting process for the client Whole group was shown the door.
Heard about a guy going nuts after being rolled off because his clearance did not go through. He threw stuff, pushed people, demanded to see the head partner for the account to plead his case (even though he was a sub).
He was stopped trying to enter the building a few times after that. Armed guards were placed on all floors as a result
Ex-McK Partner turned EY Partner got arrested by FBI at JFK for defrauding State Farm.

Once for workers comp fraud, the other for some other type of fraud.
I used to work for a financial services firm and during the implementation the female I was training didn’t show up for work. Turns out she was arrested for robbing the bank across the street. 🙄 I had to return 2 weeks later to train another employee.
SM was replaced by another SM citing LTT but in actuality it was the fact that the project was 4 months behind schedule, scope and over budget
