Advice needed! Have just been asked to Freelance with W2 form. Without any benefits. Is this even possible? Would I lose my eligibility for Unemployment insurance once the gig ends? If you were laid off or fired would you apply for your current job? I was laid off from Big 4 audit in 2016 after working there for 2 years and it was one of the best things to happen to me. 1. It allowed me to reflect and decide what was important in my next career. 2. Losing a job isn’t as frightening as it seems. 3. Accountants have major job security as I got a job offer within 2 weeks. When you’re miserable at work ask yourself would you apply for your current job?

Need advice and pep talk because I’m certain I have chronic imposter syndrome :( Background on me, I have about 6 years of work experience post college but have gone through many companies because of layoffs and/or reorgs. With that, I’ve bounced a lot with different industries and have done different roles for a year max. My current role is about to be my longest (thank goodness, hitting about 2 years) but I feel like I’m not a SME in anything but I feel embarrassment for myself (Cont.)

Single parent w/ 2 young kids & a mortgage and recently decided to pursue FL vs FT work after being laid off. A month in, loving it & finding myself very busy. Is this a honeymoon phase?

Husband and I are 8 months in to trying to conceive. After consulting with my doctors, based on my history w/ vaccines, we decided it is best to not get the vaccine while TTC. My obgyn also wants 18 months of consecutive trying before we start testing / looking at other options. My firm just changed policy to only allow vaccinated in the office and made hard deadline for everyone else to get vaccinated. Not sure what to do. Don’t want to tell employer I’m TTC but also don’t want to get fired.

I’m really happy at my current agency, but they lowballed me coming in. Since I’ve started 2 years ago I’ve produced a ton of work, they offered me a small raise in March (only 15k) which got put off because of COVID and hasn’t been brought up again.
