Well for starters and these are probably the basics. Interviews should start on time and end on time. The candidate should have full transparency on who will be interviewing him or her. So just like the interviewers have the candidates CV, the candidate should have some basic information on the interviewers. The candidate should have dates on the next round or at least expected dates and if it changes, they need an update. Last but not least the candidate should get feedback if they don’t get the position.
Make the process as quick as possible, with next steps + dates communicated ASAP.
Set expectations from the get-go: include salary band & benefits, in-office requirements, and other logistics in the first call. Do not change these up on the candidate at the last minute!
Give feedback throughout and at the end, especially if the candidate does not get the job.
At the end of the day, treat every applicant as a person: with dignity and kindness.
Following. This is a really thoughtful question.
