Current Summer Associate at Amlaw50 firm in the corporate group which pretty much only does M&A. When should I start applying if I want to switch firms? My school doesn’t allow rising 3ls to participate in OCI, so I’m assuming my only option is to email firm recruiters directly and/or look at firm websites for openings. Is it ok to apply to junior positions on firm websites or are there specific postings for rising 3ls?

I'm holding an offer from MakeMyTrip and another offer from OlaElectric. Ninjacart is willing to make me an offer. But they're saying that they'd discuss the offer only after the other company that I'm interviewing with has come up with an offer first. There's been a delay from HRs of the companies in a similar way. How do I urge them to send me the offer letter without sounding pushy? I had reached out to some of the HRs myself. Would that be too awkward if I accept & back out their offer?

When do you switch from first-year to second-year at your firm in terms of salary - at the end of the firm’s fiscal year or January 1? For context, my firm’s fiscal year ends in November and the annual billing requirements restart then.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)
