I’d negotiate for more than $5k and get as high as you conceivably can because once you’re in at Publicis, raises and promos are hard to come by, if at all.

Yes, and I’m saying as a Publicis vet, I highly recommend negotiating the highest number you can when you come in because gains are few and far between, as are better opportunities in this current economy.
Publicis seems to be winning new businesses, so there’s that. Can you negotiate for more?
No he can’t because they don’t have the budget, quote the clients low screw over your employees

There’s probably going to be more layoffs at WPP. I’d jump ship. 5k may not sound like a lot, but it’s better than nothing where you’re at. Heck, it pays for one vacation per year.
more? where have the layoffs been so far?? I'm out of the loop and I work at WPP...
If it’s for Pfizer I wouldn’t bother
Publicis is notorious for burning people out bc many of the accounts are severely understaffed Why? Bc the win they business by offering no fee for the first year or even longer. They make up for it with principal media trading.
But it does depend on the account. If it’s a newly won account, then there’s a good chance it will be understaffed and transitioning new accounts is always crazy for at least a year.
Why don’t you like WM and why do you think it will be better?
Come to the dark side 😏
But in all seriousness, PC is winning a lot of new clients and aren’t losing them… we’re quite stable and I think that in itself is a big bonus in today’s day and age. Plus I think it’s great when people can experience more verticals - makes them more marketable for future positions and promos.
Would take a look at where you are in your current role at WPP and your expectations of upward mobility vs this new role you are offered. There are always options (usually) in Publicis to not just be promoted within the agency, but also the wider hold co.
Fair, but everything is always dependent on one’s perspective and team. I’ve known and experienced PubC for over 15 years, starting back when PubC was Performics. I’ve personally extremely enjoyed my experience and time with the company and don’t have any plans to leave anytime soon.
In general, you’ll always see more people who complain on these anonymous bowls than people who praise, so sure read those messages but also take them with a grain of salt. There’s 80,000 employees at Publicis - you’re not hearing from each and every one of them about their experiences, just a small sub-group of people post here.

Publicis is staffed very different for better or worse and junior talent can get burned so be careful. Depends on your department and level now but 5k is not enough of a reason to leave so if you do, you have to want that job. You have to want to work there. You have to want to work on that client. 5k is not worth a move so don't make it about the money.
Also your salary and bump cadence full resets and you're not getting a bump up for a bit so be aware of that. Hard to imagine you can't find something with more money but if the client is something you wanna do go for it. Good luck!
