That definitely has too many variables to discuss on this type of forum. Reach out to your HRBP to get a clearer answer

Ahh yah that kind of sucks to not be able to trust your employer. I wish we could be of more help here but that kind of stuff is so variable I doubt anybody will have an answer. Hopefully I’m wrong!

Admittedly I do not have a guaranteed answer either. I would generally say though that letting someone go while on a leave of absence is a sticky situation at best. Would FMLA come into play here? I would also say there may be state specific things to consider too. Basically just a list of other things, sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!

Thanks for your response
Yes FMLA was later offered after disclosing I was having a medical procedure. But still out due to medical treatments

OP have you tried talking to HR to see what they say? Also why are they letting you go? I don't think they can let you go if you are on LTD but again I would talk to your HR department and see what they tell you. It really depends on the company.

HNY all! I have multiple rollover and traditional IRAs, as well as a solo 401k. But (since I started paying attention to this kind of thing) have always been over the income limit to start a Roth IRA. I’ve also not done much contributing in the last few years due to purchasing an apartment and saving for renovations. Cue pandemic joblessness... if married filing separately, would you say it’s a good idea to start a Roth while under the income limit, even in this climate? Any reason not to?

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

Interviewed for Deloitte S&A Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got a much higher offer for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but need time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
