Yes!!! It’s not should, that’s what’s going to happen. They can’t control inflation with these rates.

@OP the positive GDP print was primarily due to a favorable export trade imbalance in the US' favor. That's quickly going to reverse because of the strength of the dollar.
Meanwhile, consumer spending in Q3 was weaker than in Q1, fixed investment is dramatically reduced (think new resi-/commercial construction), PMI is almost into contraction territory at 50.2% (anything below 50% is a contraction), and the 10-yr / 3-mo yields are inverted.
We're not *in* a recession, but we're like Wile E. Coyote who's already gone off the cliff, but he hasn't looked down yet so the laws of gravity haven't taken hold yet...
