I have an H1b which I received in 2019 and was valid till august2021, due to covid I wasn't able to travel and then I switched to another firm last year in November. If I get visa transfer, will it provide me a validity back as I haven't used any on site time on that visa.

I understand that I can use driver’s License but what if they ask for my passport and see the expired visa, which was from my F1 status? I am asked to apply for visa for poland, I have a spouse and kid as dependents. On VFS website, visa slots are different for national visa and dependents..so will i have to book visa slot separately for my dependents or can i take my dependents on my visa date.

I spoke with a recruiter recently about a position in her company and before we even began talking about the job, she asked if I needed an sponsorship, I told her no, I dont need one. But she continued to press on the subject until I had to tell her I was a US citizen. I dont know why, but the whole conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. So my question is, can recruiters ask you about your visa/immigration status even when I told her I didnt need a sponsorship??

Does it matter if I don’t meet the specific job requirements when transferring H1B? The job posted requires CPA license but I haven’t got it. The employer is still willing to hire me. I know for PERM process, meeting minimum requirements is important but not sure if H1B have such requirement. I heard that for H1B as long as it’s a position requiring bachelors degree and specifically occupation that should be fine. But kinda worried about this.

Just venting a little: being on a non-competitive pay while on L1 visa and waiting for GC sucks…

How do you guys get your perm experience letters signed? My firm requires some specific experience on the letters. How have you navigated it? Specially with EY/Deloitte?

So
- I didn't get selected in the H1B lottery.
- My company has agreed to send me to their London office for a year (haven't yet filed application).
- OPT ends in late June, so I can stay till mid-late August (grace period).

Question:
Should I just move to London as soon as I'm able to, or is it worth waiting until the end of my OPT in August in case they do a second round of the H1B lottery?

I have filed for 485 in July 2022 and hopeful that it’ll get approved before my H1B has to be renewed in May 2025. Is there any risk of travel king out of country multiple times on H1B before 485 approval?

H-1B question. Does anyone know if there is any issue with requesting 1098 from an educational institution if we have spent on self education while working full-time on H-1B? I incurred some expenses last year and if having a 1098 will help with tax. Thanks much!
