Deloitte isn’t entertaining transferring from USI to US. Is it worth joining a sub with D, filing the GC and then come back to Deloitte US? Currently a SC with two years to go on H1B.

What is a sub? 2 years might not be enough time to apply for GC and get the i140 approved

Thanks for that timeline. That’s what I am worried about. I had read after PERM you can do premium for i140, assuming that option is there do you think that’s an acceptable risk to take? Or that itself could take 1.5 to 2 years?

Best idea. Once your I140 is approved thru sub contracting employer, you can switch to Deloitte with your network’s support.

Thanks! Thinking about it, but concerned if I will have enough time to get an i140

Is this specifically in your Operating Portfolio or in general? I believe if you have proper backing from a couple of Partners, the move should happen..but I'm not sure of the current situation.

Hey yeah, within the Operating Portfolio. I do have a strong network, thinking about this option but wondering with the time I have left on my visa, would pursuing i140 (assuming I will have enough time) is worth it. Don’t want to be at a place that I am stuck as a sub, i140 in progress and go back to India and look for something else. If it matters I am on track with my milestone as M right now. Thank you for comments!

Don’t rely on the transfer, USI just keep’s delaying it, and you will lose time. If you have someone to start your GC process go for it

I’ll be honest, I am mainly on the bowl for the political discussions because I fear being fired if I were to post publicly. Not that I’m posting crazy things but rather that basic conservative views seem to be so controversial these days. Am I alone on that? Shout out to those on the left who engage in good faith discussions as well cuz those are very much needed between left and right.

Is there any advantage to filing H1B petitions in one center vs another? Eg Nebraska vs Vermont. (In terms of approval rate, not processing time)

Waiting sucks. Left waiting for my h1b transfer approval...

Need help on filling out H1B RFE: for technology strategists, how detailed should we get while elaborating on job duties? Any tips appreciated.

First time H1B cap application and got an RFE - Fragomen told me they are requesting an expert opinion letter that will take at least 3 weeks. How long does it usually for y’all?

I just got my first H1b stamp and they only approved for 2 years? August 2021 to august 2023. What does it mean? Will I get it approved for 4 years next time? Please advice, thanks!!

Need your help in choosing the best life insurance provider (35 year term). 32 M on H1B. Checked out policygenius and leaning towards TransAmerica (Gieco has a Tieup along with Auto and home). Kindly suggest me if you personally had good experience with other providers like Lincoln, Prudential, SBLI etc. Appreciate your inputs 🐠

This is a great country. My parents immigrated here in the early 70's with little money and could barely speak the language. They found work and built a beachhead. My mother sponsored the immigration of 3 of her siblings, who brought their spouses and children. These 9 cousins of mine today have 2-3 children each, as do my sister and I, and so I have ~35 family members here, all of whom are solidly middle class. I say this not to minimize the struggles of others, only to point out (cont)

Currently on H1B. If i move to another employer, would the transfer of H1B happen as per the revised wage guidelines under the recently announced updates?

If H1B holders were to receive the stimulus as well, do you think that USCIS would waive the Public Charge rule since this is for a pandemic? And not because we are not self sufficient?

Any folks here paid out of pocket for PP for H1B extensions? What was the outcome?

Hi Fish - Genuine questions and I would love and appreciate your insight! 1) Can we go back to our home country right after receiving employer based green-card? 2) Can we remain unemployed in America while being at home? 3) Any immigration lawyer firm you would recommend? Preferably based in NYC, Philly, or DC areas.
