Herman Miller Aeron on sale because its wheels got chopped off
Herman Miller Aeron has its reputation for a reason, can be found second hand from office clearances very easily and relatively cheaply.
Whatever you do, do not buy a gaming chair
90% of gaming chairs come out of the same Chinese factories, it’s painfully obvious to see the same chair designs over and over and over with a different brand stitched on (usually a brand that has no business making chairs but is cashing in on the gaming chair hype atm). They’re not built to last, the material quality is generally quite poor and the same goes for the parts used.
They’re not designed with ergonomics in mind either. The support they provide is pretty terrible - usually a tiny Velcro pillow at the headrest and one that wedges behind your back - the adjustability options are limited and the chair itself is usually a bucket style too - altogether what sort of a posture is that meant to give you sitting in it 40h a week?
Sure it may be comfortable to sit in for a couple of hours GAMING in the evening, but it’s nowhere near enough for extending WORKING periods.
Tldr I don’t understand why people would spend 200-400 on a gaming chair when they can spend the same on an ergonomic, long lasting chair that has literally won awards for its design, exists in millions of offices all around the world and basically every part can be replaced or repaired, meaning the chair will likely outlast you
Secret Labs. Gaming Chair but there are some subtle options. „Only“ like 400-500 but very comfortable and quite adjustable. Relatively hard cushion surface but to me it feels great for my back!
Any tips on buying Herman Miller second hand?
Thanks, that's helpful
