CCOs love to hear people talking about them 🤷♂️. It makes them feel like they’re famous even though nobody outside advertising cares.

Not when outside, FCB1.
I think it’s just the enthusiasm. There’s so little genuine enthusiasm in the industry and for good reason. Honestly, hats off to those guys. I don’t watch their stuff, but I’m glad they exist.

This is the most convincing take I’ve heard yet. Maybe I’ll check them out after all. Cheers!
Honestly I think because they are fun. This industry needs some fun energy. Above that what they post is often useful. And no I don't know them or work for them.

Everyone claims they want this industry to be less bland, yet the moment someone does something even slightly out of the ordinary, there’s a thread about it here. There was a thread about Mischief’s social posts as well.

Hm, bit of a stretch. Not everything has to be profound, have depth or be well-crafted to be valuable. Enough examples of that in culture.
It’s just simple and snackable social content that doesn’t pretend to be more than it is. More than welcome in an industry that takes itself way too seriously.
You’re entitled to not like it but the people seem to have decided it’s valuable.
But once again, I’m not talking about OP specifically. I’m talking about the tendency of people to find a way to criticize anyone that tries to do something new.
The fact we are suddenly judging this as if it needs to be long-form qualitative journalism only proves my point.
Oh and I agree no one externally cares, I’m not even sure the industry cares.
There’s no other ugc advertising news/gossip
Makes me miss agencyspy. The broification of ad gossip is not an improvement.
Does anybody like Adweek or Adage? Not especially. It’s the same as that, just a new, less stuffy version. And for the record Oglivy, agencies hire internal and external PR people to raise their profile, and in my experience those people insist that creative leaders get in the press as often as possible. Some CCOs might love it but even the ones that don’t get heavily pressured to do it.
They are the Gen Z version of adage/adweek and they are killing it. Can it be cringey? Yeah sometimes, but every successful person started doing cringey stuff before they hit it big. They have a private party next Friday in nyc and big ad people are attending.
I love them. Most interesting thing on my feed. Direct, quick, easy. They’ve got great energy, they report the news, they have fun. If you need anything more than that from them… you’re doing it wrong.
I bet they are going to post this fishbowl thread on their LinkedIn just like Joe from mojo supermarket or mischief did when somebody talked about team Heck maybe the person who posted this, the op, is actually from Breaking and entering. I sound like a conspiracy nut job lol
the mischief thing was so lame, they should be above that. who cares what people say here.
It's started to be obnoxious, but they're the best and most accessible place for ad industry news these days.
Breaking & entering? I don’t like it nor do I recommend it. Could lead to a potential criminal record and/or jail time 🤝
How much do they charge to be featured on there? Can someone share a media kit please?
It’s also really easy for our own PR team to get mentioned on. Literally they’ll mention anything if you ask.
