How much more than your partner do you need to make, to be granted alimony… I’m asking because I have seen cases where one person sacrifices themselves studying and working hard, while the other person is basically doing the bare min, and they can get alimony if they separate ? My husband repeatedly claims domestic abuse falsely, and it’s getting too much. Now that I have kids he has started saying this to them and they say it back to me. I think he does this because he wants custody of kids or an upper hand when it comes to finances if we end up divorcing. Any ideas on how to handle this

Have been married for 15 years and have a kid of 11 years. My spouse is falsely accusing me of domestic abuse and trying to get separated. We have had incompatibility even before marriage on various issues but it was an arranged marriage, we tried to work it out and stay together. Her side is asking her to move on. She has taken my kids passport and kept it with her. What are the options I have to defend myself?

Are there any mothers here who voluntarily gave primary custody to the kids father? I love my children fiercely but tbh I don’t think I’m cut out to be a single parent. Family and friends tell me I’m a great mom but at the end of the day having them on my own is exhausting and I end up just either letting them do whatever they want Bc I don’t feel strong enough to set a limit about it, or yelling at them. How do I know if I am ready for a divorce?

As a divorcee with a kid, i find it extremely hard to find friends who can relate, or even making friends as it seems there’s a stigma attached to you because your relationship didn’t work out.

Stupid question but getting a divorce now and having a hard time figuring out what to do with sentimental things such as wedding pictures, travel pics, ornaments we bought together, etc. What did you do? Relationship was over 12 years and don’t know what to do. Should I jus pretend that those 12 years never happened or she was not there?

Divorce is amicable and based on growing apart rather than bc of cheating or fighting or anything else..
