Multiple times a day, every day. We have several types, numerous materials and different sizes. We use the. For creating fixtures, trialing changes and making measurement tools. There are even some thoughts about implementing them in production for certain parts. This has already been done for almost a decade by other OEMs, though usually on niche products with lower volumes. Once you begin using additive manufacturing technology and processes at work you will wonder how you survived without them!

Have the components held up well over time?

What are you going to use it for?

Saves a fortune on niche components for sure!

I know someone who started his shop when printers first came out then moved on to CNC components and has done very well

Tax Senior here. I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I just got told they’re firing me. Should I expect severance? Have other people been fired for similar? What did you do with your career?

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?
