Hi fishes, what are the chances of Pwc AC bangalore rescinding an offer given the current market condition? The role in my offer letter seems to be pretty generic and during interviews, it didn't look like, they were interviewing for a particular project or team. I have doubts specifically because of HR's behaviour during the whole recruitment process where they never responded to my emails or calls. Is this normal practice?

Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

Yes, and I really don’t like how it stresses students out with the point system. I like the accountability with quizzes but maybe there’s a better way to get students excited about reading. I’ve had students read way below their level just to earn “points” 🙄.
I feel the same. It becomes only about the points and not the love of reading. Trying to come up with a better way to get kids to read independently outside of school, and have some accountability for the reading.
I am not a fan at all. I hate the point system, and the extrinsic motivation it creates. I do the 40 book Challenge, and have non-negotiable reading time in my classroom. I hold them accountable through conferencing and occasional book notes.
Exactly! It drives me crazy!
I loved having AR! I understand people's frustration with it, though. If it is used properly, as a tool, it can be very useful. If a teacher/school/district uses it improperly, it can be a reading deterrent. I always encouraged the reading. I had reading conferences, shared books, showed great enthusiasm for reading, and helped the students set goals. AR was an expectation, and we set reasonable goals, but reading was the focus. It's people who misuse, overuse, and abuse AR that make it unappealing. That's a shame, too!
I wish we had it at my current school. There's no accountability for reading, which is a teacher problem, I realize. Some students tell me they haven't read a book all year. (I work as an ELL teacher, so I don't have my own classroom.) AR could be a good thing at my school, and using it (correctly) could definitely be a tool to get the students more motivated to read. Some kids DO need a reason to read otherwise they won't do it. It's all about balance!
I completely agree with everything you said. When used within reason and as one tool, I think it’s great. I don’t like how it is used at my own kids’ school, however they are highly motivated by it and love it My son’s grade didn’t use it this year and didn’t read nearly as much.
I love it because it builds on comprehension. We use it as an incentive to get our students to read more. After each nine weeks, we have an incentive party for points read. We also give out badges for points, like 5 pts, 10pts, etc...
Moved to Whooo’s Reading this year. There is a cost, but way more in line for real reading tasks. Saw a lot of growth in my kids...our admin took us off AR let us use the money for https://www.whooosreading.org/
Love it!
