Spend time entering or looking at it everyday. I set up binders (so I have grades by hand and electronic grades.) took me a few hours to do 100 report cards, my teammates are still working on theirs; they are going on days!
I am a second year 5th grade teacher and feel the same way!
I am glad I'm not the only one! I am actually from MI, where do you teach?
I use a blank spread sheet for grades. I only grade things they do independently and only take 1-2 grades per week. I highlight missing or modified grades so I can keep track of work habits issues My instructional data is more informal and separate. I use a great product from Carson dellousa for a lot of it. I only teach reading.
I like that you take 1-2 grades per week and highlight missing work, that is simple and helpful. Thank you!
Once you create an assignment enter it into your grading system. When the students leave, lock your door for 15-20 minutes without interruption then grade and enter your grades.
Time management is the key! Sometimes you have to lock your classroom door and work on your craft.
It's simple but it does wonders!!!!
I keep a binder for all of my grades and organize them by subject, then I enter them into the computer. I teach 2 sets of classes, so I organize them by the home room teacher! This has helped tremendously! Especially if I forget to add a grade to the computer, I can go back to my binder instead of trying to find the assignment.
