I need some ideas for my last hour class. I teach reading only and I have this class first hour for reading and then last hour again for “communication skills”. I plan on some days doing prodigy, maybe passion projects, and maybe reading groups. This class has a lot of sped kids. By the time last hour comes, they are all over the place. I need things to keep them from going crazy, but want it to be purposeful also. Any suggestion?

I’m currently struggling with my friend group. I’m a transplant to my current city and ended up making friends with my coworkers (who were also transplants). Now I’m regretting this as I don’t feel like the friendship is deep and things seem competitive.
