Do y’all get more recruiter responses reaching out on LinkedIn DM vs sending a direct email? I subscribe to a sales tool that lets me find people’s work emails, so I can usually locate ~90% of recruiters’ emails when I search. I’ve connected with a lot of recruiters over the past year, but when it’s time to actually reach out—either to ask about an open role or to figure out who the aligned recruiter/hiring team contact is—I’m debating which channel gets better reply rates. What’s worked best ??

A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.
