Tell me you’re single...without telling me you’re single

Is this a singles thread

funnylike

Must be

It's in a different room and my phones are on silent when I sleep.

Totes get it. Made the mistake of saying this to a married colleague once and he was like...that's just sad 😂 Guess I was the only one?

Yes it’s next to me in bed, we cuddle 🥰.

Falling asleep with my work laptop at the hotel was my go to night routine on site

Mine doesn't leave my office. I can't live without my multiple monitors and mechanical keyboard ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

likefunny

Exactly this. I can't imagine life without multiple monitors when we return to normal of going to client location or office.

Yep. Laptop to my right, husband to my left. Makes waking up 2 min before a call quite a bit easier!

like

Why do you sleep with your work laptop?!

like

Oooh smart

im currently taking courses and prepping to apply to me next job, so its my personal laptop thats next to me

like

Neither

Moved the laptop to a dedicated place in a different room. Almost never moves from there. Helps to het a break when I want. I spend enough time with my laptops during the waking hours.

Married but my work laptop is on one side and spouse on the other side.

I am not single. But on my bed it is laptop and phone. Maybe am having a affair with these gadgets

Separation of church and state, even in hotels, laptop never migrates fro the desk to other furniture

My desk and my bed are in the same room, so it is somewhat unavoidable 😄

I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either. Honestly this sucks & it feels like I'll never have a huge supportive family I've wanted & craved for.

I’m currently being asked to undergo a background check. 9 years ago, I was caught for drinking underage while in college. I subsequently went through a diversion program. I’m now being asked whether Iv ever gone through a pre-trial diversion, which is what I went through. I don’t want to be penalized for something that happened 9 years ago. Advice? What should I do?

Looking for advice fish fam. Deloitte vs EY-P. Same level - Manager/Director. EY-P pays $50k more for base and maybe $10 to $20k more as bonus. Currently at Deloitte. Is the extra $60-$70k worth giving up my network? Plan to stay in Consulting and hope to make SM/SD. I have a family and my wife is a homemaker. So money does matter. Would have left easily for an $80k bump. Wouldn’t leave for $30k or less. Don’t know what to do with $60k. Pulling my hair out here. HELP Please!!!

If you are on a billable project but happen to have a day we’re you aren’t asked to do much, do you still bill the 8 hours for being on call. Or do you only bill the 1–2 hours you work that day on client work? Less than 1 YOE. Curious on your thoughts on billing 8 hours a day even if you don’t necessarily work the whole time. Is this something you have done? I also under stand that billing less than what you work is not ideal, “eating hours.” But what about billing more than you “actually” work
