Not for conversations. I occasionally go to the website to look at reviews if I’m considering moving companies

like

I use both. They give you insight on the current job market, reviews, salaries, job openings... And so many other features.

like

That’s awesome. Anything else you use?

Glassdoor’s use is to look up organizations and discover how employees feel about the company.

Before I apply for a job, I look up a company. Rarely does this prevent me from applying. I use the information to tweak my job application.

If I get an interview, I check out the company reviews again. If the company is a train wreck, I will interview just for practice. And I want to see how bad the train wreck is.

In a screening interview, I will ask the “train wreck” recruiter questions based on the interviews. I will ask why are they hiring when they just laid off 200 people. I will ask why their CEO has 1 star. I am not trying to make the recruiter uncomfortable. I am trying to figure out if the company is truly “train wreck”. These questions tend to prevent me from getting any follow up interviews.

Expecting an offer from both Deloitte India and Capgemini.
Deloitte India - Senior Consultant
Capgemini - Associate Consultant

Capgemini has verbally promised me 9 LPA but the offer is yet to be released.
Deloitte India has not yet communicated any offer, neither verbal nor formal.

I am more inclined towards joining Deloitte India as it is a bigger position than Capgemini.

Advice on applying to PM jobs with 1yr APM experience?

I’ve been working as an APM at my current company for 1yr, and have basically been doing the work of a full blown PM the entire time. I’ve lead several features from start to finish and made sure to mention in my resume that I have been doing everything a regular PM does. Has anyone ever hired an APM for a PM role or done it yourself? Any tips? Advice?

With product design questions, I struggle to identify user groups. Once I do everything starts flowing and I’m confident. But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this? For example, the question “design a podcasting app for truck drivers.” What types of truck drivers can I select so that I can prioritize a user group to focus on and begin identification of pain points and solutions?

So our CEO asked me and a colleague to give a Start/Stop/Continue Mid-year review of our CIO who’s been our Head of Product for a few months (Our Head of Product left because of him when that guy came in)

We have a lot to say and none of the PMs approves the way he operates.

My concern is that it’s meant to be transparent but if we’re honest and he gets called off, he will figure out it comes from us.

Never been in that situation before, is it better to be completely honest or a bad idea?

I have received two offers from great companies. One is a senior analyst role in the advertising industry and another is a Product manager role in the risk industry. I have 1-2 years of experience as an analyst.
The salary, benefits for both are same. I’m looking for a role that has tech and strategy designing as well and both the roles offer this.
My long term goal is to be a product manager but I want to be on the tech side as well. How do evaluate the offers?

I got invited to a second round interview with a big company. The title sounds more senior than my current title, but the work responsibilities feel like a step down. I am wondering if I should still interview (to see if they will consider me for my desired role instead or at least, get some interview practice for when a better opportunity comes along). Thoughts? Is it ok to reject the offer if they make one, on the grounds of the role not being a good fit for me.
