Does anybody have any experience leaving finance and going back? My previous experience was all at PE firms, I took a gamble in a biz ops role at a startup. I’m thinking of getting back to finance, but I’m worried I may have cut myself off.

You can go back, but think wisely about whether you really want to. Lots of people leave IB for corp dev/strat for stock and WLB. I doubt any of them would go back to banking. Spin your experience to say it was operating related and move back to PE, prob at the same role you left at. MF will be tough tho.

like

Yeah that’s my thing. WLB is definitely 100x better. But pretty upset with comp, and true growth trajectory isn’t great here.

i’m in a similar boat. left tech banking/VC to join a startup that failed. been working with local SMB entrepreneurs at a non-profit for the last year while trying to get back in & feeling like i totally fucked up my career track/future lol. i wish you better luck

Hi Everyone - I was hoping someone could throw some light on the kind of work trust and safety does. Or is it more engineering?

I've been working in the insurance industry (property and casualty) 4 years now as an insurance sales agent. Looking to switch gears a little. How do I get into the claims adjuster field. Looking to make a change and make good money. I currently make about 38k a year base and 1% in commission.

Stay or go ?

I'm at an early stage tech start up and gaining experience in an industry that I like. However, I am getting no formal training or sales coaching. Everything I've done so far (Inc. Targeted marketing and prospecting) has been self taught and I feel like I am lacking professional knowledge if I was to move onto a different company, especially considering that I am not involved in the full sales cycle.

Hi fishes,

This annual appraisal I have got a good % of appraisal increment on my salary but I was not promoted to a senior developer (although I have been mentoring a junior dev in my team and been part of building the project by implementing new technologies and tweaks) and my total YoE is 3.5+ years. What could be the reasons? What should I do now?

Thanks in advance!!
