Also, what’s the compensation like in Austin specifically? I would think the compensation would be different than Cupertino. Anyone have any offers or salaries for these positions in Austin?

So I just went through 4 first rounds, and 2 loop interviews. I have absolutely no advice for your role, but it has taught me a lot on how Amazon does interviewing.
If the JD discussed that you need to have experience working with X kind of client on Projects worth $X… and you don’t… make it up.
Every single STAR answer you give MUST HAVE monetary impact… and if it doesn’t… make it up haha. Time saving, monetary impact, CSAT score improvement, processes reduced, headcount added or removed, hours saved.. you get the point. Always state what your role was, and what your responsibility was for the “S” of the star. They really care about your role.
Don’t bother memorizing any of the LPs- just know how to answer to them. Honestly I used ChatGPT to study for a week. Nonstop back and fourth conversation with ChatGPT.
Also they will dig deep to find out if you’re lying. So make sure you have your story straight. For example if you told them I changed the color of an advertisement to red and this boosted our sales by $10. They will ask how do you know it was $10. Did you try other colors- yes/no/why? Who did you consult about the color choice. What did that person say to you? What did you do with their feedback. How do you handle feedback and how has that affects your relationship with them… they will go multiple layers deep trying to press you.
Don’t be worried though, it’s actually a very fair interview process, just study for it. Like truly study, take at least a week, 2 hours a day. Also often people don’t pass the first round, it took me 3 first rounds to finally nail it. This is pretty common- they will shuffle you between roles in order to find the best fit. Feel free to ask any questions, I spent 6months interviewing for AWS
Oh one more thing they will ask you about failure. 100% they will ask.
Questions like- tell me about a time you took a path that was not advised. Why did you do that.
Tell me about a time when you disagreed with someone, how did you handle it and how has it affected your relationship with them. What was the outcome of the disagreement.
Tell me about a time where something didn’t go as planned. How did you recover. Did you recover? What would you have done differently. Why would you have done that differently.
What’s something you’ve worked on that you’re unhappy about its result of. What could you have done differently (they love what could you have done differently)
