IIRC, second years got moved into offices around April/May before the summers arrive, so you aren’t in a bullpen for your full second year, less than half of it. I also recently got an email saying that some first years were getting moved to offices due to incoming summers so it sounds like at least some first years are getting offices now too. The NY office is undergoing construction so there’s been some shuffling around.
There isn’t a cafeteria or subsidized meals unless you’re billing late past like 8pm in the office. There are plenty of unlimited free drinks and snacks all day. Often free continental breakfast items too. But generally I would say there aren’t any particularly notable in-office benefits that come to mind. Would be awesome to have a cafeteria haha
When I was there like 3 years ago, you shared offices through 4th year at least
When did they get bullpens? When I was a junior you started at the door in a shared office, moved to the window around 2nd year and then got your own around 3rd year.
I found it really odd that they didn’t seat people by group. I guess they wanted you to meet everyone but most of your neighbors were randos you had no reason to interact with. Much better to sit with peers you actually know and can learn from.
Most people got lunch from the Pret in the lobby or the buffet across the street. Pretty certain we had free coffee.
Wow. I guess it makes sense seeing that headcount has nearly doubled from when I started. There are almost as many attorneys sitting in NYC now than we had across the entire firm.
Great place to work pre-Covid at least. I knew almost everyone in the group and people were generally invested in your growth because you’d have to work with them again.
