How much yearly hike can one expect at Société Générale ?
"Depends on performance" seems to be a very vague answer.
Can someone please elaborate on a better answer.
Also, Can someone shed some light on promotions?
Is there any policy, like you have to work for X years to be eligible for promotion etc.
Thanks in advance.

Interviewing with Facebook (Meta) soon and have some questions about the mobility and career progression if I am coming in as a product specialist and want to move in to pm work. Anyone with any insights on what the average time for promotions or how hard it is to move to other areas within Meta after joining?

Hello fishes.. I've joined Capgemini as a fresher in August 2021 and got trained on Salesforce and now working on project as a shadow resource. I'm also a Salesforce certified Platform Developer I. How can I prepare myself so that I can join Salesforce after 1.5-2 years. Would love to know your thoughts and tips on this.

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

I just want to know what role at McKinsey is qualified to be a quant at Jane Street
Also STEM undergrads. I got deep into interviews with them in undergrad without much coding knowledge, just halfway through a STEM degree with some high school math experience. Same for a few friends

It’s much better than consulting. 630am-5pm
My roommate works for another quant with more tech-y vibes. They’re usually putting in 10 hour days max. Most days hover around the 9 hour mark.
It’s really great, 7:30-8am until 5-5:30pm. Not exaggerating, I think algorithmic trading hours are a lot better than non-prop quant trade hours. I have a few friends from graduate school who are there, both in trading and research positions. They don’t sprint during their working hours the same way we do, they just do their work diligently at a good but sustainable pace. It’s a good setup, been thinking about trying to make a jump tbh
@consultant 2, 9am-9pm
I worked at Jane Street for 2.5 years before leaving. It really depends on the role, for SWEs and traders you can expect 8-6 for most fundamental trading desks, with exceptions where you stay out longer after 6 dealing with post-market issues. For researchers and lead researchers it can get widely different, but there are definitely some researchers who can go 2-3weeks without working a single minute (excluding meetings), while other weeks you need to put in 50hrs+
It depends on is it quantitative trading or research. Trading is market hours and research is much more flexible.
Good point. I was in trading and the rigid hours drove me crazy.
You just read going infinite too? lol
Idk, but I wish I worked there when SBF was about..😭😭
