She should go elsewhere... Or buy headphones at the very least
Taking calls is borderline, but can be ok. Taking them on speaker is a no-no!
Someone needs to say something to her. I had a manager once who did this and I swear it was just cause he was trying to convince us of his "importance".
I personally don't like people taking calls in team rooms even if on headphones. It's distracting to me. Again, personal opinion.
OP, I used to start conversations up in my team room and blatantly kept a normal voice level when this would happen. Pretty soon, folks got the picture that if you have availability to move elsewhere, do so. However, if it's the only place, I would be a bit more cognizant of my voice level.
I agree all it does it prevent anyone else from talking to each other and it's incredibly distracting
this person is purely oblivious I gotta say something
Something needs to be said. That's rude and inconsiderate. If she doesn't change, simply have conversations with other ppl while she is in the room and on speaker phone. She'll get the hint.
Smack her
Yeah if you need to take a call do it outside the team room
I think it's very common to do in the same room with headphones. At my current client there are sometimes 3 calls and an in person discussion going on at once
Just tell her. Maybe she is really that clueless. Is she a higher level than you?
