Does anyone use workday as an lms?

Yes, we use Workday as our LMS as it gave us a SSO solution. If you want to create engaging learning you will need an additional design tool, articulate would be my recommendation.

As an LMS Workday has very limited reporting capabilities and does not present a very engaging interface. Unless you have an in house Workday DevOps Team it would be challenging to build out reporting capabilities

Agreed. We use workday but for actual engaging learning and social/collaborative learning we use Nomadic Learning and it’s a game changer (and it integrates directly into workday so that helps)

Yes we do and if I’m honest, I do not find it user friendly.

Yup, useful for some things but reporting capabilities are limited.

Hi all! I have an opportunity to work for a tech company as a l&d specialist. They are quoting 70-75k. But I have 8 years experience. Does that seem like a fair number? Sounds low to me but I wanted to check.

Workday as a LMS? I’m skeptical but my firm pushing in the “one stop shop” direction with an HRIS.

I have an LL&D Manager interview coming up - any tips?!

Reposting from HR bowl: I’ve heard there is a hiring boom, especially for L&D roles. I was let go recently from a toxic environment (removed the company from everything) after only 4 days of work. I’m actively job searching but not receiving ideal hits. I see a lot of senior level L&D roles but not as many for specialist roles, specifically in tech. I have 5.5 years of experience. Any advice for me? I’m also seeking therapy for the trauma & coping, now ready for securing that next role!

Looking for some advice…I’ve been told that transitioning to L&D should be “easy“ given my experience and skills (résumé posted for reference - note that I adapt it per position). I have tried applying for specialist to Director positions but I’m not having much luck. Any suggestions on position type and level that I should be focused on. (I have executive level exp. and cannot afford to start an entry-level position.)

Hi there- I have a couple questions I’d love some insight on. What is a typical salary range for an associate dir or dir of learning & dev in NYC?

I just graduated with my PsyD in school psych & several years experience in education, clinical psych & also as an admin/EA at a marketing firm HQ but am planning on interviewing for learning & dev roles. Total burnout in education and mental health fields. Could this be an obtainable entry point level/role given my career snapshot above? Thanks!

Just wondering.. L&D Specialist salary and duties for others. Degree? No degree?

I applied for a Director Learning and Development (L&D) role at McKinsey about a month ago via a referral. About a week ago, my McKinsey employee (who referred me) received an automated email saying that I had moved to the pre-screening process of the recruitment process and that I'll hear from the recruiter shortly.

It's more than a week now and I haven't heard back. Can anyone shed light on the process -- what to expect, timelines, what is the interview process like, etc.

Thanks!

I am currently an HR professinal of 3 years with past background as a teacher/advisor in higher ed. I am aiming to pivot to a more L&D, training specialist type role in order to leverage the skills obtained in both areas. It would be the perfect career for me. Any openings or hiring at your company? I am not super concerned about the title as long as there is room for growth and I can pay for my 3 kids' daycare tuitions. ;)
