Any recommendations for good RE in NYC? Specifically for PCOS. Not looking to get pregnant anytime soon but just want to better understand my condition and maybe get off birth control
I’m 6 month pregnant with a good amount of lower back pain that gets worse with standing and walking. Insanely, I’d like to take my 2 older kids to Disney before the new baby arrives. Has anyone been to Disney Land (CA) and Disney World (FL)? I’m curious if Disney Land being smaller would be less walking and possibly a better option.
For those of you who have a much different life than your family of origin, how much support (financial, emotional, time and energy, ect) do you devote to your parents and siblings? My upbringing was ok but I have worked hard to clear out familial problems (drinking, anxiety, hypochondria) and build a very different life and marriage. My sister and mother especially feel very stuck in past cycles and I vacillate on how much I “owe” them. I’m in my 30s now and wonder how others cope over time…
Anyone gotten off of BC just cause (as in not trying to get pregnant but maybe see if you can regulate your periods?) how long were you in BC? What type of BC (pill, patch, ring, IUD) and how long were you on it before you decided to go off? What were your side effects getting off of it?
Still adjusting to the new life of a mom (13 weeks pp). Had struggles with breastfeeding the baby initially due to supply issues, but now feel bound by baby’s feeding schedule (every 3 hrs) to do other things (even with good spouse support). Plan to go back to work in a few weeks and imagining it will be tough to manage work, household stuff, baby. Plan to hire a nanny, but she would be there only from 8am to 5pm. How do you guys manage? At what baby age does it get better?
Intermittent fasting “experts” — how do you deal with a few nights in a row where it doesn’t seem “worth it” for social reasons to give up dinner (like your kid’s family birthday dinner, then a girls night out)? I’ll do IF for a week or 2 and my body adjusts and I’m not hungry and I start losing weight and feeling good. Then a couple nights off the wagon and it’s hard to feel like I’m starting over and feeling hungry again. Just power through it and start the IF habit again asap?
Hi all - wondering how to initiate letting work know I’m pregnant. Is it normal to go through HR? Or engagement team? Do people outside of the engagement team and staffer need to know?
Has anyone been to a virtual baby shower that played games? Looking for a couple light-hearted games for a crowd ages 30-80 😁
I’ve been saving all of my kid’s clothes for her little sister, but this is the first time she’s outgrown her underwear. What do experiences moms do? Save it to be used again by the little one? Recycle it? Donate it and buy new underwear when the second needs it? The thought of sharing underwear kinda weirds me out. I also feel weird donating it, but I was reading online that there are places that really appreciate second hand underwear.
How did you tell your boss you were pregnant? (What info did you give? How far along were you?) How did the conversation go?
I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant, comfortable at my job, but testing the waters with another company who is interested in recruiting me. I want to be transparent - I’m not ready to jump until after I have this baby, but I want to keep communication going and have them stay open to me later on. How to best approach?
Hey everyone. Can someone please suggest different type of work in Accenture with less work pressure suitable for returning mother.
Kavanaugh is a child. His inability to answer simple questions, fake cries + who uses the excuse “I’m a virgin w a calendar”, are bullshit and I hope they can see right through that.
How crucial is it to get along with your mother in law? I have been in a relationship for 4 years now and have heard his mother say the most awful things about his siblings spouses in their back, which led me to believe that she is certainly doing the same about me when I’m not in the room. I don’t trust her but my boyfriend glorifies her and wants me to spend time with her and feel like her second daughter. I am always polite when I meet her but again keep my guard up. Could this be a (cont)
My friend just had a baby. I want to send her something useful / something she needs. I know the first few weeks are tough. Any recommendations?
What thought (if any) is your agency giving to parents juggling kids while both WFH? How are you handling calls? Are you taking shifts to watch the kid(s)?
Question for parents. How does the school system work in NYC? Do most people pay for preschool, then are there decent public K-elementary schools? Is it sorted by neighborhood or does your kid test into them?
Beyond 2 lines the text in each post card is cut off. I wonder how many lines in the comment section?
Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...
Ah now it did.
Nice! The post animation looks good!
Give me the toughest advice you've learned so far. Save the woo woo self help crap for LinkedIn.
I'm 20 and got an offer from a startup that is 80% but my last name happens to be the name of their company and they want me to legally change it before they will accept me. Is this even legal? My last name is quite unique and they claimed it was because they don't want me to be mistaken for leadership as I will be a junior employee. Is this as ridiculous as I think it is?
Is it ok to get personal in salary negotiations? For example, let the recruiter know that I’m a single parent supporting three young kids and two retired parents and I really need more money.
I know this is an incredibly privileged question to ask so spare me the criticism. But I am graduating with no student loans and starting a job in Philly making 95k. I want to lease an Audi A4 (~350/Mo) but my parents keep trying to talk me out of it saying it’s a terrible investment and that I don’t even need a car. I already plan on maxing out 401k/IRA and have an apartment for 1k/Mo. What do you guys think?
Client dinner last night. Fellow female consultant changed into tennis shoes with her dress. We didn't walk or run to dinner. We drove. 🙄
Went on a date with a Goldman banker: she said that we'd not be a good fit because I don't work at McKinsey, so I would be insecure about my company in relation to hers. What????
I know this is dumb but starting as an analyst at 25. :( can’t help but think about having to hang out with recent grads and how i’m gonna relate to them.
Anyone else feel like a 100k salary is nothing. Between 17% to 401k, and 87,000 in student loan debt anyone. I don’t actually have much money left post paying down rent and normal bills
McKinsey = HBS (old, prestigious), BCG = Stanford (close up there, and closing in), Bain = Wharton (same conversation, but a teeny bit lower), Deloitte = Booth (rising in the rankings, but no one...
I’m 28 and working at ATK . Yesterday I got a news from my mom that my dad has just diagnosed stage 4 cancer. I’m away from my hometown but fortunately, project that I am assigned will end next week
Plane is full. Loads of backpacks in overhead. I ask to move one of them for my carry on - guy refuses to move his backpack. Finally relents, angrily. What’s the proper etiquette here?
Person, “What do you do?” Me, “I work for KPMG” Person: confused look Me, “Have you ever heard of Deloitte?”
