Does Deloitte have effective utilization (ie vacation time does not penalize you) or full utilization (taking PTO hurts your utilization)? I’ve heard the utilization goals but aren’t sure if they’re comparable to EY’s effective utilization

So if I take unlimited pto my utilization stays at 100%?

like

That’s a good point.

Full. Basically means that to hit charge hour/utilization goals, you can have moderate work weeks and not take PTO, or make up all the time off you take.

Can someone explain full vs effective utilization to me? I always assumed that since our utilization goal isn’t 100%, it’s accounted for time for FTO, CPE, etc.

Sorry- was replying to EY/OP

Is your target utilization then 100% for all time not accounted for in holidays? That seems a little unrealistic.

What are Deloitte’s utilization targets for senior consultant (Deloitte Consulting)? Comparing firms right now.

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

What would you have done in my place? Should I go for Oracle or Amadeus?

That 50/50 company then owns 70% of holding company they own all the real estate as a partnership that the original partners are 35/35 and the investors own the remainder. All the real estate deals are then owned by this holding company.

We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. Yet, his parents and others would view him as “lazy” but he does his job and makes a fantastic living. Time>Money and Results>Hours

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?

Question: I have a client who started a restaurant. He leased the land and bought shipping containers where he spent money contracting out to turn them into bars. I’m having a tough time determining how to depreciate this! First thought was leasehold but he’s not making improvements to a structure...he owns the structure! But nonresidential real estate at 27.5 years doesn’t make sense either as it’s not a brick and mortar building. Curious on others thoughts! TIA
