McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.
McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

I got $5k signing bonus and the salary on the higher side of the range, which I sense-checked with some other people
Yes. I was offered $5K and I kept waiting to sign and then they offered $7K. Lol
I should elaborate that I was going for an increase in base. They’re often more likely to increase the bonus than the base. From my initial offer they raised the base by $2K and then when I didn’t signed they raised the bonus by $2K.
I was offered 5, asked to have that on my base instead of salary and they added an additional 2 to my base maintaining the 5k bonus
I also asked my recruiter if they could change the 5k bonus to base and he told me that while they may be able to do that, I was already offered on the high side of people at my level and so if I get the 5k base now, my raise next year may not be so good because they try to level the others out. So basically it will just be an advance.
yes they do. If you want a higher base they will reduce the bonus.
I was offered 9
I was offered a 5k bonus but with a base 5k lower than another B4. They wanted to make up for that difference in base comp with that one-time bonus.
i only got 2k...
Firms are desperate right now, so I’d safely presume they’re throwing out hiring bonuses like it’s an Oprah audience giveaway.
Before COVID I was given 8k, as an experienced senior.
