Not always. I’ve done depositions Christmas week. I also find sometimes plaintiffs become more eager to settle to get some money in their pockets for the holidays, so settlement negotiations pick up.
People stop answering emails as often, but sometimes there’s a rush to settle or you happen to have discovery deadlines that require a lot of work around the holidays. Last year I had two cases with discovery deadlines the first week of January. Judges wouldn’t move them, so I was in depositions all ever every week for December up until Christmas.
Clients shut down normally from Christmas week through new years so yes.
Not in my experience.
I feel like at my company (I’m in house) things have been slowing down.
Yes, usually slows down around Christmas for a week or so.
