Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

2 months later and I am still waiting...

I interviewed at Google and cleared all onsite interviews back in July. Then came the hiring freeze and my role was de-prioritized. Now I'm being called for another position which I applied through the same recruiter before for the same group but different role. My question is will Google reuse the positive feedback and will it help/add value to this new position?

Just got my PWD issued through current employer though their immediate reaction is subtly letting me know they’re not in a hurry to start recruitment. Got an offer today for $160k base. Similar role, both are good teams, etc. Do I politely decline and see my GC process through or accept and get more money? Feel like current employer will drag their feet as long as they can for retention purposes.

Wife’s L2 EAD finally changed status to “New Card Being Produced”. Took 12 months including RFE, feels good to know her “american dream” is about to start. Today is a damn good day.

Other than citizenship, are there any other benefits of having a baby in the US vs in India? My wife and I may not be settling in the US, depending on what we decide over time. With that in mind, my wife is siding towards having the baby in India. When I checked online, I don’t really see any benefit except for the citizenship. Any inputs appreciated :)
