One of our managers has an open door policy. We can vent or talk about whatever we need to. Our other manager is very different. He does not want to be bothered with listening to staff and usually hides in the office with the door closed until the shift is almost over. No one likes working when he is on duty.
He sounds like a hermit. I wonder what he does behind closed doors?
Maybe a pool table?
I wonder, what do you think he plays with his stick, his balls or both?
Sorry...I couldn't let that one get away...lmao
We do. I think it works well. Most of us feel comfortable knowing we'll be heard, Now, will there always be followed through or action taken, it is another story. We all like to think so.

That’s awesome and we do as well
Written policy? Our office really don't have that kind of policy but we are always given the opportunity to speak our minds and share our opinions. In that way we will be able to maintain a healthy relationship with the people in the workplace.
My company talks a good talk. I haven't had to utilize it (thank goodness) and I don't know of anyone who has, but they definitely preach on it whenever there is a big meeting.
Officially yeah the store manager's door is supposed to be "open" for anyone to talk about anything work related. You need to vent about a difficult customer? Door's open! Concerned about something fishy going on in the stockroom? Come on in!
