I wonder when it’ll start sinking in for Progressives that culturally speaking they’ve now taken the place of the neocons and evangelicals of the ‘90s.

We used to rail against those guys and their propagandist media allies like Fox News. It’s what made the Daily Show so great in that era. It’s so weird how power corrupts.

@OP who on earth are you describing lol. Are you really gonna suggest a government led by and for the billionaires don’t have a sycophancy problem? The down to earth people threatening to invade Greenland and Panama don’t have a sounding board problem?

Also, the grift is real. The guy moved from DLA to Willkie: big step up in firm. Willkie trying to cash in on their political connections.

What's the implication here? I don't understand the post (I do not know anything about him other than him being a lawyer and married to Kamala Harris).

A7 - I feel the same way. I try to give victims the benefit of the doubt but refuse to be naive about incentives to lie. Without further corroboration, it’s hard to draw any firm conclusion one way or the other but I do think it’s still a valuable data point.

Totally fits the vibe there

Hi Folks,

I have about three of experience as incident manager in operations, and I wish to move into devops, and i technically trying to upskilling me on the same.

I personally don't have a mentor to discuss this topic, so I like to know from you the below.

Right now, I have a decent offer for the role of Major Incident Manager, but how much CTC can be demanded as I am moving from non tech to techincal role.

Silly question but, do devops engineer required to work in rotational shifts?.

I recently lateraled into Big Law. Most of my colleagues are homegrown. My shift did involve a big change in practice area, and there's work that I haven't done before that I now have to do.

But, sometimes I feel stupid here, even for work which I have done previously. It's like I'm unable to understand instructions the first time around. And I have seen my colleagues getting annoyed by that. It's like I've become dumb. In my defence, I could say they're giving half assed instructions.

Is it true that there’s a lot of 2-4 year lateraling in January?

There’s a practice group that I’ve been trying to find work in but whenever I volunteer to help, I always get roped in to do non billable work. In the beginning it was fine but now I’m feeling it’s never going to amount to actual work. Any tips to get more involved without all the non billables and how to approach this gently?

I lateraled to my current firm less than a year ago, 2 months into the firm’s billable year. But I’m going to hit the yearly billable target regardless. What should I expect to receive as a bonus? What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. The worst part is I think people can tell I’m a mess....
