You define primary care giver at my firm. Not sure why anyone would not take it.
14 weeks paternity; top 10 firm. Used to be 4 weeks and was increased recently.

No paternity leave policy at my firm. Women get 12 weeks. Regional law firm in the Midwest.
SoCal biglaw - 6 weeks paid paternity, 6 additional weeks unpaid also available. If acting as primary caregiver, 12 weeks paid, up to 12 additional weeks unpaid.
16 weeks paid for both mom and dad (AmLaw 100).
4 weeks. No one takes all 4. Maternity is 12 weeks and most women seem to take it.
Men get 6-10 weeks at my firm.
DC, top 10 firm. 10 weeks total. But you only get 4 of those if you are primary caregiver (wife back to work). Can be taken in separate segments as long as within one year. Ramp up pro rated billable only applies if you take 7 weeks or more consecutively.
Chicago BigLaw- 10 weeks that can be taken in either a single 10 week block or split into two 5 week blocks within 1 year of birth or adoption. There’s a possibility of an additional 4 weeks of generic “family care” leave that can be requested as well.
18 weeks for both. Midwest branch of a large global firm.
Same as for women: 12 weeks.
Am50 firm. Moms 18 weeks and Dads get 4. Dad leave needs some work.
6 weeks paid at a 100 attorney Philadelphia insurance defense firm.
Chicago BigLaw -- 8 weeks for fathers, but never seen anyone actually take anywhere near that long.
Pacific Northwest - pretty sure ours is 4 weeks paid for guys, 12 weeks paid for women (with the option of an additional 12 weeks unpaid).
6 weeks for secondary care giver and 18 for primary care giver. Ramp up period for primary after returning.
