Ideally downgrade the CSR to a no fee card. I think you may be able to have two different Freedom cards, but I’m not sure. Then apply for CSP using the new signup bonus. You can apply in a Chase branch and the first year annual fee is waived. Also happy to pay you $95 if you use my referral link 🙂 Then you can upgrade the CSP to CSR in a year, but with the $550 annual fee now, and CSP earning 3 points/dollar for dining, plus a 10% EOY bonus, I don’t think the CSR is worth it (particularly if you also have an AMEX Platinum)
Rising Star
You can have multiple of each Freedom card, no problem there.
If I downgraded CSR today (and am past the 48 months since I got the bonus on it), how long do I need to wait to ensure everything's gone through the system before applying for CSP (and potentially trying for the double dip)?
Perfect, thanks so much! Fingers crossed...

All these comments are so wrong 😂
Downgrade your CSR to a Freedom card. Use the Pay Yourself Back function before downgrading if you want to cover charges and use up the travel credit
Apply for a new CSR or CSP after you hit your 4 year window since you RECEIVED the sign up bonus
If you can hit the spend on a CSR and CSP at the same time, consider doing a double dip. This requires applying for the other card AND getting approved on the day after your approved for the first card. This is the only way to get the signup offer on both cards within the same 4 year period

A1, Chase bonuses post pretty quickly after meeting spend.
Could they deny you the bonus? Yes.
Have I seen a single DP of someone being denied the bonus for douple dipping? No.
You can’t product change (upgrade) a personal card within 1 year of card membership due to the CARD act
Cancel CSR. Apply for CSP. Upgrade CFU to CSR.

Applied for a CSP in 2019, upgraded CF and CFU around the same time to CSRs.
Can someone explain the best way to maximize this like I’m 5 years old 😅

Read the comments.
What happens to your points when you downgrade from a Sapphire to a Freedom card? Ex. When you transfer your CSR UR to Freedom and then downgrade CSR to Freedom Unlimited, are you unable to accumulate UR/does your transferred UR automatically switch into cash back prior to the application for CSP?
Rising Star
You keep your points but you lose the higher redemption rate and the ability to transfer to travel partners.
CF, CFU, and CFF "cash back" is actually UR points.
How soon after I cancel CSR can I sign up for CSP to get the bonus points?
