Interested to hear how this works.
Wellbutrin was the only antidepressant that ever worked for me—and I tried them all over 14 years before finally getting diagnosed with ADHD. I forget the chemicals involved but it’s a different class than most other antidepressants, more like a lifting effect than a numbing one if that makes sense? Not Adderall by any stretch but *definitely* not Zoloft either.
That said, if/when you want to come off it, taper SLOWLY. Literally 3x as long as the recommended timeframe. The crash is very real and very dangerous if you move too fast and it is both safer and faster to taper like a sleepy snail than have to go back on it, recover, and taper again.
Love wellbutrin. I take 150 MG + a low dose of methylphenidate and it's been enough to manage my symptoms
Wellbutrin acts on a different part of the brain than other anti-depressants. It is super helpful with motivation and concentration. It is one of the few anti-depressants that doesn't cause weight gain or sexual side effects. I take 150mg wellbutrin with methylphenidate (2x/daily) and the worst side effects I have are dry mouth and lack of appetite; if I'm not careful, I will do a fair amount of rebound eating if I don't make myself eat a little something during the day. No issues with sleep or upset stomach.
Fewer side effects than SSRIs
