Entertainment is such a relationship-driven industry, and I keep wondering which reputation carries more weight. I know people who are absolutely brilliant but tough personalities, and others who are just okay at the craft but get hired nonstop because they’re chill and pleasant on set. Ideally, you’d be both, but let’s be real. If you had to pick, what’s better for long-term career survival: being “the best,” or being “easy”?

“Easy to work with” wins every time. No one cares if you’re a genius if you make everyone miserable.

I know people who've been absolutely blacklisted for being a nightmare to work with. Not just the talent, but especially the behind-the-scenes people who should be focusing on the work, not their egos. If you're not going to be the best at your job, at least be nice and helpful!

People love someone who’s easy to work with so I feel like that always wins, at the end of the day you’ll see/talk to this person a lot you want them to be easy to get along with.

I agree with the comment right above this. People love working with the person who is easy.

However, there is little to no learning and its very slow, the project is just starting and the client itself is not clear what they want. Do you think I should switch just because its a big 4. Please help me decide. Yoe -3.5

We never know our capabilities until we are tested and challenged. This is when we realize we can do it and we can get through it 🫶🏻! IA you got this 🫶🏻!

How is the work life balance in Citi?

Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?

Seeking honest advice here.

Hi everyone,
One of my friends, he made a switch just 6 months back hoping he would get a better work environment a better package, but now he is just frustrated with the working environment, being a backend developer he has been asked to just fix bugs for almost 5 months now and that too in javascript without any KTs or any other trainings when he clearly did mention in the interview that he does not have prior knowledge on javascript.

What should he do? Any suggestions?
