London has better learning yada yada. The biggest lever to your decision should be talent inflow and outflow - a lot more MBB London folks are looking to make the move to Dubai (especially since these opps are rare, most hiring is in Riyadh which sucks balls) vs. the other way around. We all do this for the money, and BCG Dubai’s pay is superior, therefore it’s a no-brainer imo.
paycheck dubai
quality of life, learning, career, everything else london
I spent 2 years in the Middle East at an MBB and left for London. Though I was paid well and got some good savings, I had difficulties adjusting socially and also the work being not so relevant for mature markets. I would take a call based on long term plan and personal life balance. But if you are going, go with a timeline and savings plans.
how did u explain the experience here to make back to london
Bain London
London. No brainer
The must-have answer to all questions like this in the bowl - “it depends”
If your goal is to maximize financial return - BCG Dubai is the clear option. The office is diverse and the cases are the coolest of the region. You will spend most your time travelling to Riyadh on a weekly basis. Social life is good in Dubai.
If your goal is to maximize the “professional consulting experience”, Bain London is the way to go. You will learn more, meet cooler people, and have better exit options.
It will help to directionally know your goals post-consulting to assess which office is most suitable for you

Cool that you have the option to decide. Joining BCG Riyadh post MBA. Maybe see you at onboarding in Dubai :)
Hey would you mind sharing over DMs when did you interview?
if you do Dubai / Middle east for 2-3 years, you’ll make and save (living a decent lifestyle) more money than you would over 10 years in London. I have 0 context of your situation, but if i had the option, i’d do 2-3 years in UAE, then go back “home” wherever that is, get yourself a nice house and be years ahead of peers financially. i feel like that’s a great advantage to have, but as everyone said — it depends!
I’d consider moving to the region for up to three years: earn what you need as a post-MBA candidate (I’ve been there), pay down your debts, and build a solid cash buffer.
Try not to do only mega-project / public sector work. You can also get “normal” consulting experience here (CDD/ODD, value creation, growth plans) which will read more like European consulting on your CV.
Then you can move back to the EU with much more peace of mind
