Ever been on a VC deal with a junior on the other side leading the deal - clearly unsupervised - and you feel like you’re their supervising associate? How to navigate this dynamic?

Be their best friend and help them as much as you can. It will pay dividends

Juniors don’t like admitting they don’t know what they’re doing. That’s to your advantage so long as you don’t tip them off.

Pretend as if they know what they’re doing, but steer them to select from your curated options that you’re treating as market standard.

Having been at a top vc firm and also at a V50 firm with a small ECVC practice, I can tell you this is a problem I’ve had on both sides. Best way to handle is what P1 said above. Don’t be an ass and help them out, it will pay off big time.

this happens quite a bit for very cost conscious clients.

That feedback applies to any OC junior leading a project with supervision…

Why do I feel this is one of the top 4 ECVC firms? I constantly run into same issue.

Nah this is a very small boutique I haven’t come across before

Specific question for fish based in the UK.
Could you let me know what your employer contributions to your company pension scheme are?
For instance, they contribute half of your contribution up to a maximum of 3%. Before any tax incentives etc.
Interested to see the variances, it seems to be substantial from what I've seen. If it changes with level/seniority, please make that clear as well so we can differentiate between companywide averages and individual circumstances / positioning.

I was given a tentative offer for a job at a government hospital. The salary they are offering is lower than what I'm making now. For government jobs with a defined GS level salary on the job posting, do they have a wiggle room for salary negotiations?

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

You all loved my last chart so much, I decided you deserved another.

Look at this ridiculousness. What an absolute horror show.

Billables are low this month. Like I have 65 billable hours in so far. I’ve messaged partners over the last week to try and get more cases but there are tons of new associates who were just onboarded and were at a low point for business. I’m freaking out

Any Atomic Habit readers here? I’m brainstorming identity-based habits for two things I want to change:

Neither of these feel that helpful. Any one have suggestions for other identity-based goals that get at these changes I want to make?
