I've definitely been there before. I think one of the most important professional skills to learn is to be a little less concerned about how others respond to you. All you can do is show up and do your best, learn to find your voice and keep it no matter how others respond to you!
I spent too long twisting myself up trying to get the “right” reaction.
Yeah, both are reasonable. Maybe it just wasn't the right time before but people were more receptive to it after thinking on it. It can be frustrating, but at least you now know you didn't say anything out of pocket, and people were receptive to the idea eventually.
That’s such a fair point. Sometimes people just need time to let an idea sit. It still stings when it is only taken seriously later, but at least the idea made it through.
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery! I’ve noticed, and been guilty of this too, not everyone has their brain firing on all cylinders during meetings.
I’ve blanked in meetings too... brain lagggg
This happened to me so much at the start of my career, especially be managerial men! You then have to hope the idea fails (or am I petty)
