Hey, I have 4 YOE and currently a manager at PwC and have been managing teams for a little over a year now. My role mainly consists of leading teams of engineers deliver MVPs to our clients.
If I wanted to exit to Google or Facebook (Meta) what role would align for me? I was looking at engineering manager roles but unsure if that’s too senior for me.

Associate product manager role.
Few different paths:
1) Associate PM programs (rare): There are a few of these, though only a few are all that great imo (e.g., Google APM, Facebook RPM; RPM is more open to non-technical types)
2) Direct hire into PM (rare): This only even has a chance of happening if you had previous engineering experience/a technical degree before consulting, but it’s rare even then. Some startups may take a chance, but I’ve actually found that startups are even more likely to want seasoned PMs from a reputable program like Google, Microsoft, etc.
3) PM adjacent roles (common): More commonly, people join tech companies in roles like BizOps, Product Analytics/Strategy, or Product Marketing and then switch to PM after a few years/get promoted internally

Would you say on (3) there are any roles more vs less suited to making the PM jump? For example, I’ve heard there are BizOps roles that can be quite unrelated to PM work
Startups. More risky but they tend to be more lax on requiring previous pm experience since they are a riskier/ lower paying career move and seasoned PMs aren’t going to go for it
Move internally
