I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?

Working for the government will be the easiest job you've ever had. You will also have zero upward mobility. If a stable schedule and a 100% safe for life paycheck are what you want, go for it.
Turning tricks and living in a van down by the river.
You'll also have the "protection" and work limitations of a union. One thing that surprised me about government was the cutthroat environment. There are fewer opportunities for upward mobility, so people can get pretty nasty. That's also why there are a lot of PhDs in government; they get it through a PhD mill for the extra promotion points.
You'll love it!
Federal?
Government jobs have upward mobility if you want it, but you’ll typically progress slower than in public accounting.
But I agree: easy/boring.
