I am Offered 29.5fixed by PwC for SA (L2). Currently on 25fixed. Should I join ? In terms of WLB.! My current employer on fishbowl shows Deloitte but have left Deloitte a year back. Currently in a firm with good WLB but PWFH is a big win for me that PwC is offering.
Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.

I personally looked internal and made the decision to switch without first talking to the Practice MD. I knew he wouldn't be supportive and he wasn't. Said things like "you're throwing away your career, this is beneath you" etc. My CC however was super supportive- so it depends. Odds are you already know their reaction so trust your gut. You can always put out feelers and just be up front that you haven't talked to your Leadership yet. That doesn't preclude you from looking internally. I also found that internal roles are desperate to find ppl with consulting experience...
Depends on how ur partner is I got dinged bad at EY for doing that. Just so that u understand u are a small fish 🐠 and Partners are generally sharks
Don’t project onto them; that’s something we all have a tendency to do. For all you know they’d rather see you go internal than leave entirely.
C1 yeah, that’s exactly why I’ve been avoiding it. I’ve had drama around the idea of just telling this partner I wasn’t interested in a particular project based on how people thought he would react, so just trying to be careful. After he found out anyway, he said I should have just told him though...but this is another level of “not interested” lol
I just went and found an internal role without telling anyone I was looking and got an offer. I ended up moving to an external company but I didn’t tell anyone I was looking (internally or externally) until I was ready to resign.
Most would rather keep a good resource in the firm rather than having them wind up at a competitor. But of course how the message is crafted and delivered will impact the outcome.
It isn’t necessarily something they don’t want to hear and in fact, we hear it a lot. The general trouble is that we hear it more than we hear of internal roles to fill. Have the conversation but keep on looking outside as well to line up your options.
If u have an offer which seems right for u then move give notice etc. until then stay quite clearly u r working for the wrong guy
And u r unhappy thats why you are looking
I had an internal champion and didn’t tell anyone else. It’s true that in the end they’d rather keep talent at the firm but be prepared to defend your current salary and ANY expenses no matter how small
I know a few people at PwC that did it.. granted I’m based out of Tampa, so there’s a huge back office presence here
