I would stay at EY for the relationships and knowing the processes etc better
What’s the pay like in Bermuda?
Yes. But cost of living is quite high since everything is imported. Also, there may not be income tax in Bermuda, but as a US citizen you still pay taxes in the US on that income
I would stay as well, known entity, polices, procedures, benefits.. You can focus solely on what is new about the role and be successful
If you are viewing Bermuda as a short stop along your career, I would go with EY Bermuda. You would still be building relationships within EY and I would imagine EY Bermuda works closely with some of the US offices. If you intend to return to EY New York, you can continue building on those same relationships.
I would stay with EY for the relationship, unless you have reasons to believe you won’t like the culture of EY New York or you don’t have a great relationship here to begin with. But I did like pwc’s culture a bit more based on some of my friends’ descriptions.
Well I think you should get a bump for switching firms. The smart move would be to switch to pwc in Bermuda, get a bump, and then switch back to EY for another bump when you want to come back. I’ve stayed at pwc since I started but have several friends who’ve jumped twice and are now making 25k+ more than me at the same level and in the same group etc only difference is they moved around
How do you think the WLB will be in Bermuda?
Tax or audit? What’s the comp range for what level?
I used to work at EY Bermuda. Wasn't for me.
That’s really Bermuda and cayman in any firm. Most entry level work is offshore and seniors are forced to step down. Not EY specific
I want to go to pwc Bermuda.. what clients do they service there?
So k-1 prep?
PwC for sure. Worked in Bermuda for 4 years. Loved it
How were the hours
Can you leverage one against the other? Any chance EY (if that’s your pick) can sweeten the deal a bit more if they were aware you had another offer, especially from PwC. 🧐
EY4- Stay on topic.
But just for fun..I’ll humor you just a tad. What you asked is a different situation. I’ve never worked with billing clients so I cannot say due to the lack of experience. But if you think EY or any other big4 is doing work and not trying to get as much profit as they can from every job, you’re seriously living in a fantasy world.
These are my opinions, mind you. I didn’t try to push my opinions onto anyone else’s. It was just a thought that I, as an entrepreneur, constantly think about when I’m working with multiple deals of the same nature. Calm the F down.
Stay with ey
Stay in the US (with EY)
If tax, I have a great Senior Manager contact in EY Bermuda. Happy to connect you.
Generally I hear they are a tight group, at least for the single folks with no kids. May be different for those moving a family.
