“We hired you not to ask questions” huh?
I spoke to my lm about this, he acknowledged that and said we still have to make the clients happy so I need to find the balance myself which is a growth point for me. I totally understand that, but in current situation it means we need to work much longer hours evenings and weekends and make "educated guess", when it's something the client can just confirm in 5min. Any advice on this would be much appreciated

Op When does your performance year end for your company
I understand, I just feel very down everyday working on this project for the last several months and it's not going away. I found a counsellor to speak with, her approach is only about "how to go easy with myself" which I feel is not enough to deal with my situation. If I keep feeling so sick I thought it might just worth quiting the industry completely
Lookback? Sounds like bad leadership. I once had a director tell me to “withhold your commentary” ...I was like, aiight...I see you...so I did the work and grew heavily unmotivated and frustrated. Thank goodness we are in consulting, better projects ahead.
My project leads are actually nice (as far as I know), I got these complaints directly from the clients and I feel like I'm not capable to do what the client is asking for, but I see it often to be the most efficient to just take up 10min from the client asking what they want and how do they normally implement similar products. It feels frustrating and cause me worse headache when I think of the fact that this is not even what I want to work on in my career
Seek to roll off that engagement. Check with resourcing if there's other more suitable projects in the pipeline, and if there's anyone on the bench who could substitute for you. Help the RL with this resourcing to help roll you off.
Some may, but this is about what you need. You being negative on the project are best replaced with someone who wants to do it, particularly if you've been on the engagement for quite some time. It's easily explained why you need to break away from the project without leaving a bad perception.
Mitch, is that you?
No but I feel sad for that Mitch if he's experiencing the same

Is this a long implementation project at ACN? If yes, been there done that. In hindsight, I miss the job security and stability of these projects as an analyst but it really does slow down your growth. If you have any downtime, start learning about a topic of interest and see if that would open up any doors to be staffed at a different engagement. If that doesn’t work after a while, you should consider jumping to a different firm for a nice bump
Makes sense, I think I do want to leave, I feel drained everyday and I just can't make myself productive for my project. I will look around, maybe the move itself can support me through the next months

So you just got promoted 2 months ago, did I read that right?

You’ve been there for a year. You put your time in. Let your team lead know you’d like to grow professionally by taking on a new account. Work with them to set a roll off in a way that works for project - 2 months out should be sufficient for planning. You should not be on a project that makes you miserable. It’s okay to switch in the right way.
I fear they would say things like "you are not doing your current role perfectly and you still have a lot of room to grow", which is true (as well as a way they keep me on till they find the next person 😂). I'm not good at saying no...
