Stay away from staffing agencies. They can seriously F-up your job search
Nobody is hiring seniors either, if that makes you feel any better!
The first job is the hardest. This industry lazily relies on personal recommendations way too much. Find CDs you like and reach out to them. 20 will ignore you, but the one who doesn’t may just hire you
Take a couple small freelance gigs so you can say you freelanced during this time and weren’t just unemployed without lying. Make great work that you wish you were actually working on for your book. Keep making great stuff, updating your site, and writing thoughtful notes+cover letters. I think it’s more value able to get some great work in your book than to do another internship. One is enough, geez. Something will come. Unless you suck hehehe
I had two in two completely different industries. I’d say if you’re young and have a financial safety net (parents, etc.), use the time to build your portfolio (whether that’s by freelancing or your own independent projects). You could also try going through a staffing agency (just know that not all staffing agencies are great and that many will take some %, whether from you directly or the company).
The beginning always sucks. Stay positive and know that once your foot is in the door you’re in for life. Took me 8 months to secure an internship while working another job that thankfully led to a hire, but I know plenty of people who had to do a couple internships before an agency brought them on full time. I know that’s not the most encouraging thing to hear but just keep at it and know that you’re struggles getting hired are normal, and have less to do probably with you as a person and more to do with the nature of the business
