👋 Female Bosses Community,

👀 I'm asking for myself. What is happening with the field of HR & Talent Acquisition (TA)?

To explore my options, do you find your organization typically hiring, outsourcing, or self-directing this function?

Is the HR & TA space still in high demand within your own organizations, or has it not been a demand at all? If not, what has been the reality of the role(s) in current demand for you?👂

Based on what’s been happening with all the tech layoffs, as well as other industries, there are masses of HR and TA professionals looking for new roles. And those are people w years of experience and connections. I’d stay away from those type roles if you’re looking for a job in the next ~2 years.

Got it. I wasn’t clear if you were looking for a first job out of school. I’d first ask 2 things. 1/what role were you last in, and what type of organization. 2/what you feel are your soft skill strengths. Those are probably more transferable.

We need the role but have 2.5 people to cover 200+ employees and only the top person makes close to $80k

Thank you for your insight. What industry is this for?

Hi All,

I recently obtained my law degree and currently work for a BigLaw law firm as an assistant. I want to make the transition to the firm’s Litigation department because I want to practice international arbitration. How do I approach my HR department as well as the litigation bosses about transitioning to litigation? Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

Hello! Looking for some guidance. I will soon be leaving Verizon after 15 years with them (6 years HR experience, 3 years Operations, 6 years leadership). The last HR position I held will be eliminated and I was offered a severance. I am now in the market for a new place of employment I can call home. I was thinking of trying for a start up. But the likes of Google, Adobe, etc. also seem appealing. Would you recommend a start up as my next endeavor? I enjoy helping build processes and policies.

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge.
